Perhaps it appears that certain people (the lucky ones) are
given all the opportunities they could possibly want and others are never given
a break. But what if I told you that everyone is given an equal amount of
opportunities to attain a happy life and achieve success? Would you believe me?
Maybe not, but what if I explained the phenomena of negative hallucinations
which natural occur in our minds all the time? Perhaps then, you might agree

The word hallucination is defined as the sensory experience
of something that does not exist outside the mind, usually in the form of visual
or auditory senses. There are two forms of hallucinations. One form being
positive hallucinations, where a person experiences something that is not really
happening in reality. An example of this naturally occurring would be a time
when you are frightened and you swear you hear footsteps or see movement when
neither of these events have really taken place.
Positive hallucinations do not occur as naturally as its
counter part, which are negative hallucinations. As you may have guessed, a
negative hallucination is when a person experiences something as NOT being there
when, in reality, it is. This can happen through the auditory senses when we
decide to "tune" sounds out. For example, most people that live near an airport
will eventually not hear the airplanes flying over their house.
But the true power of the mind to create natural negative
hallucinations is displayed when we experience a visual negative hallucination.
This is when you absolutely do NOT see what is right in front of you. For
example, has your spouse ever asked you to get the ketchup out of the fridge
and, at first glance, you did not see any ketchup in the fridge. She says she
just bought some, so you look again and there is no ketchup in the fridge. She
then opens the fridge and says "See the ketchup is right there". You look again
and sure enough, the ketchup is right there in plain sight.
Another example, and I'm sure this has happened to you. You
are in a hurry. You go to the counter where you always leave your car keys and
they are not there. You think to yourself, "My keys aren't on the counter. Where
are they?". You then tear apart your entire house, check the counter about 25
times and cannot find your keys anywhere. You then check the counter one more
time because the keys just have to be there and sure enough, the keys are right
there in plain sight.
These negative hallucinations take place because, at first
initial sight (I mean within the very first second) you did not see what you
were looking for. Perhaps your awareness was focused on thinking about your
plans for tomorrow as you opened the fridge and the part of your awareness that
went looking for the ketchup didn't find the ketchup. So you quickly thought,
"There is no ketchup". This simple suggestion to yourself was enough to create
the negative hallucination and cause your mind to block out the image of the
ketchup that was actually really there.
This same phenomenal occurrence of negative hallucinations is
happening when it comes to feeling that there is a lack of opportunities in your
life. In your mind, you believe there is a lack of opportunities for yourself,
which causes you to give yourself the suggestion that you do not see
opportunities for yourself, which creates the negative hallucinations that
opportunities do not exist for you. You have simply told yourself not to be
aware of your own opportunities and you have accepted this deeply hypnotic
suggestion.
So imagine what would happen when the negative hallucinations
are dispelled and you begin to truly believe that opportunities exist for you
just as much as anyone else. Imagine how your life will change when you realize
